The last few weeks have been heartbreaking to
watch as the saga of the Trayvon Martin killing has unfolded. Hoodies, skittles and ice tea have become symbols
Seven Taylor youth between the ages of 11 and 18 have embarked upon a significant journey of faith this year. They are
participating in a life changing experience – confirmation class! From Ash Wednesday to the
first Sunday in June, these young people have committed themselves to a 14-week process of learning what it means to be a
disciple of Jesus Christ and growing in their relationship with God. They are studying, praying, serving, and exploring what
it means to be United Methodist in the midst of other faith traditions

Women's Day 2012
Taylor’s Annual Women’s
Day Worship Celebration will be Sunday, May 20, 2012, at 10:00 AM Worship Service. The theme
is, “They Will know We Are Christians by Our Love,” (Galatians 6:9-10).
The Women’s
Day Committee is pleases to welcome as our guest speaker Reverend Natalya Johnson of third Baptist Church in San Francisco.
Rev. Johnson, licensed and ordained in the Baptist Church, joined the Third Baptist ministerial staff as
Assistant Minister for the Young Adults in 2008 under the tutelage of rev. Dr. Amos C. Brown. Rev. Johnson is a Board Certified
Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains currently serving as Staff Chaplain at the California Pacific Medical
Center, Davies Campus. Her work involves companioning all persons in moments of joy, grief, crisis and despair. Rev. Johnson
is instrumental in the education and training of clergy in all faiths seeking to put into practice in the clinical context.
The Women’s Day Committee thanks each of you for your prayers, support and encouragement. The unselfish
giving of your time, talent and gifts as helped raise many dollars in years past. Women’s Day Captains will contact
you to request a donation for this year’s Women’s Day.
